The revenge film, directed by Taylor Hackford and based on the Richard Stark crime thriller series, was released in 2013. Parker, played by Jason, is at the centre of the thriller. Parker is a seasoned thief who specialises in large-scale heists.

The plot twists as his criminal crew betrays him and abandons him, thinking he is dead. He teams up with an unexpected friend, played by Jennifer Lopez, as he seeks vengeance. He hires her to help him organise the gang's next major heist.

Michael Chiklis, Bobby Cannavale, and Nick Nolte round out the star cast, which also includes Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez. Taylor Hackford, an Academy Award nominee, directed the film.

On March 4, 2021, the Jason Statham film debuted at #7 on the box office. The next day, it had moved to fifth place. The next day, it slid up to second place, and on March 11, it sat atop the first position.
